PaperWorks recently took home one Excellence Award for Always Pure Cotton OVERNIGHT Pads at the Paperboard Packaging Council’s (PPC) 79th annual North American Paperboard Packaging Competition. The packaging designs recognized in PPC’s competition represent some of the best folding cartons and rigid boxes manufactured over the past year.
The PaperWorks team was tasked with designing a folding carton solution for Procter and Gamble’s Always Pure Cotton Overnight Pads. Brand visibility and shelf appeal were very important design criteria. Full trials and qualification were performed on structure and embellishments to ensure the optimization of the carton. The application of matte and gloss coatings along with gold hot foil stamping gives this exceptional product, an exciting, premium look for maximum shelf impact. Several print trials were completed using matte and gloss coatings to develop the appropriate surface tension required for proper hot stamping adhesion.
The combination of hot stamping and specialty coatings makes this product stand out from so
many other options on the shelf in this product category.
“On behalf of the Paperboard Packaging Council, I congratulate all of this year’s deserving winners,” said Ben Markens, President of PPC. “To be recognized in our competition is a feat, demonstrating mastery in design, manufacturing, distribution, shelf presence, and much more. It is a true stamp of excellence.”
